    About “Mechele Armstrong”

    1. Mechele Armstrong

Growing up, I had a vivid imagination with lots of imaginary playmates and stuffed animals to keep me company I even had crayon box adventures where the colors had a kingdom and tales to tell And who says pink is a girl color In my world, he was a prince. From the time I could form my letters, this translated into fanciful writings from poems on eye shadow I was six to a story about an Island world I created with animals and people Writing was something I always did.But it never clicked I drifted in and out of genres, mystery, animal stories, thrillers, toying with it, playing at it I would finish some projects and store them away It never occurred to me that this pastime could be my life s passion if I let it Until my world collided with rediscovery. As a teenager, I devoured books, especially romances but drifted out of the genre as an adult On a weekend trip to the beach, I read four romance novels I had a flash of inspiration I could write these Romance was where my heart lay Within six weeks I had written my first romance novel.I went back and revamped a thriller that I had written a few years before, making it a romance And I became serious about my craft, trying to soak in all I could about writing I began to write on a roleplay loop and the practice has been invaluable I ve cut my teeth there and learned what works in writing and what doesn t And I ve finally accepted who I am A storyteller at heart, be it tales told to my children, an erotic piece about lovers or about a vampire looking for love.So come with me and take a journey where, just like in my crayon box, things aren t always what they seem.

    1. 2.5 Stars.Byron and Callum are dragon riders, which is a misnomer because they actually turn into dragons rather than ride them. Every night from dusk till dawn the dragon riders take to the sky to protect and defend Eastania from the dragon riders of Wardona, their warring neighbors. Byron and Callum are happily mated and bonded for life. While some dragon riders mate other dragon riders, the species requires a human mate because after the age of maturity (25), sex with a human is the only way [...]

    2. I'm a sucker for dragon shifters and this didn't disappoint. Byron and Callum are bonded dragon shifters who need to find their third before they spontaneously combust due to their internal dragon fire once they've reached their fast approaching 25th birthday. Only a human third can siphon off the heat. They both realize they might have met their third in Mira, a gardener, they just need to persuade her. It could have been longer but I enjoyed the story.I'll be reading next.

    3. I’m a fan of Armstrong’s ‘Settlers Mines’ series so I expected a similar level of character development and plot progression. I didn’t find that here. This series about dragons who need humans to ‘release’ their fire buildup held such promise. The least I expected was the amazing world building that Armstrong is capable of. That wasn’t disappointing but for me was there was little to no chemistry between these three. I wasn’t convinced that either Byron or Callum really thought [...]

Originally posted at: whippedcream2/201Love can be all consuming like a raging fire, but in Bryon and Callum’s case they need love to tame the fire within. What originally made me pick up this book was because it featured dragon shifters, Who doesn’t love a dragon shifter? The author not only met my expectations with her dragons but she exceeded them. This story fully included Bryon and Callum’s dragon side, even when they were in human form. I adored the way their dragon nature played a ro [...]

    5. TAMING THE FIRE sets up a fascinating world with dragon shifters and their erotic relationships but I wanted more emotional resolution by novella's end.The world of dragon shifters is excellent here. I love this well imagined world and can't wait to read other novellas in this series. I know other paranormal fans will like this world as well.I like Bryon and Callum as they gently woo Mira to them. Their love for each other is also described well. But my complaint is that Mira doesn't have the em [...]

    6. I give this one 4.5 stars!I loved it This was the first time reading a story about dragons. I am officially hooked. I found this plot very good. Callum and Byron's love for each other is beautiful. I also liked how they felt for Mira. The characters felt so realistic to me especially the way they felt for each other. I feel the thing that disappointed me was that it ended quick, but definitely a good quick read :)

    7. I thought the story was good, but for some reason I didn't like the way it was delivered. The dialogue was choppy. I didn't fall into the world that the author tried to build. I'm not going to give up on the series though. I'm going to read the next book n the series to see if it gets a little better.

    8. Really enjoyed the story. A little bit like Bianca D'Arc's dragon stories which I also liked, but with more sex, which is great, but shorter, which was not great. I got the next one though and I'm so looking forward to reading it.

    9. This could have been better if the book wasn't so short. The plot was too complicated for such a short book and that resulted in Mira's relationship with Byron and Callum being rushed.
