My romance & erotica book club is reading this book for our October 2015 selection. Having just finished it, I'm glad we chose it. The stories are well-written and wide-ranging, and it's a hot collection of tales.

OK, admittedly I am a biased reader because the editor of this book (Laura Harvey) is the heart and soul of my writing group, and she worked her considerably erudite mixture of talent, charm and grammatical discipline in putting together this fun and interesting anthology of short stories.Yes, this collection has not only demons, otherworldly creatures, hot sex scenes, and romance, but also some fine examples of talented writing and skillful storytelling. I received this book through the First Reads program. Good stories, well written, they really grabbed you.

The anthology started strong with a story about an accidental summoning, followed by one in which hate-fucking is involved, which I dig. That The rehashing of old myths could have been stronger--Demeter's age reads rather whiny, a grudge-holding bitter middle-aged stereotype, rather than as the goddess she is. Otherworldly creatures read as too human in most of the stories. A couple of stories could have benefited from length, and it's not clear why one story needs to be so long it has twelve ch [...]
