After a slow, rocky start (the first 2-3 chapters), this second book in the Nightwalkers series really takes off and doesn't slow down for breath. There was too much exposition and re-capping in the beginning, no matter how relevant some of it was, and this lost it a star (it took me two tries to read this). Re-read by audiobook. I'm a little tired of the Romanian-ish accent. And then they threw in a Russian accent. I was very interested in finding out what was up with Magdalegna and Gideon, since he is one of the most powerful Demons, a healer like no other and having lived over a millennium. With his platinum hair and silver grey eyes…. wow….Once the imprinting process started, there was nothing they could do to keep away from each other. Lovely story, enjoyed it a lot.[image error]

Wow. That was a huge letdown! I loved the first book in the series, Jacob. But I really did not like this one. I did not like Gideon at all. He was a cold jerk. I really think he was modeled after Gregori from Feehan’s Dark series. But unlike Gregori, he has no idea how to treat his mate. There was zero heat. Zero chemistry. I did not like Lena either. So, Gideon. I really liked him in the first book but now I looove him. I love that he and Legna Imprinted really early in the book and that they realized that and their love for each other very quickly. I can't believe the reviews on this book are not more positive, I really loved it. I don't think series is for me. I found this book kinda boring. Pretty much nothing happened for the first half of the book. I did like the world the author created but don't think I can continue on.

The second book in the Nightwalkers paranormal romance series, and I'm really liking it. Many fans of this genre complain that it takes 228 pages before this book has it's first sex scene, but I didn't mind. Ms. Frank spends those 228 pages endearing the characters to you - you get to know them inside and out and see them interact with all sorts of situations. I Just love this series, it is wonderfully Fresh and the characters are Fantastic!! If you haven't read The NightWalkers series you should give it a go I loved this book about Gideon and Magdelegna it was lovely, Gideon is One Sexy Demon!! You get to rediscover more about Jacob and Bella and we get to meet new charactersAnd it lets us no what finally happens between Kane and Corrine!!!

The author is just as wordy in this one as the first. She’s using big words, and a lot of them, which makes reading tedious, and I find myself losing interest and checking out. This is a different story than the first part.Like Gideon and his brutal honesty and directness, his logic.Legna behaves like many typical female characters.However, the way that these characters influencing each other is a great, refreshing and healthy.Yes, they wanted to change some things on one another, but nothing too much, nothing terrible and unreasonable. Concessions were minimal, perfected them - this is perhaps the healthiest compromise the healthiest person I met in the books.
